Spring 2026 Faculty Student Lunch Series Flyer

Join your favorite American Studies professors for an informal chat over lunch!

Each month, 12 undergraduate students will get to enjoy a catered lunch with a few of our amazing American Studies faculty. No agenda other than your curiosity, questions, and ideas!

Invite your friends and show them what you love about our program. You don't have to be an American Studies major to join us, but RSVP to reserve your spot!

  • Tuesday, February 17 with a discussion on The Superbowl with Profs. Anneleise Azua, Sylvia Chong, and Karl Miller

“In light of the recent Superbowl, the most watched television event of the year, we will be sharing some of the best—and worst—renditions of the US national anthem at public events as a means of talking about patriotism, resistance, and reimagining the nation. Singing the same song does not necessarily mean carrying the same tune.  Come to check out some great music, do some American studies analysis, and eat some free food with American studies faculty.  Whitney Houston and Marvin Gaye, among others, will make appearances.”
